Research Interests

Dr. Daniel studies the lipid metabolic pathways that enable Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis (TB), to enter a state of dormancy and become tolerant to antibiotics resulting in latent TB infection. Current interests include: Molecular biology of microbial lipid droplet metabolism, protein-lipid interactions, fatty acid transport, lipid biochemistry, microbial dormancy and antibiotic tolerance.
