Center for Applied Mathematics and Statistics

Mission:
The Center for Applied Mathematics and Statistics strives to promote, conduct, and disseminate research in applied mathematics and statistics and to strengthen the educational mission of the Department of Mathematical Sciences by providing guidance and research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.  As part of its outreach program the Center's goal is to facilitate interdisciplinary scholarship initiatives, provide consulting services, and promote closer relations with local industry.


Goals:
The Center for Applied Mathematics and Statistics has several goals for their organization. They seek to work with local businesses on projects of mutual interest and provide funding opportunities. They also wish to provide an avenue for scholarship—publishable research, material for seminars, etc. Finally, the Center for Applied Mathematics and Statistics attempts to provide guidance and research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students at IPFW.
