National Council of Licensure Examination (NCLEX)

National Council of Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and State Board Application Information

May graduates only are asked to submit their applications to the State Board of Nursing during a specified week each spring. For 2014 the designated week is March 31-April 4.  Since the ID photos are required to be attached to the application, they will need to be turned in to the Nursing Office, LA 345, before Spring Break.  The ID photos can then be returned to students by the end of March.

December graduates: There is no specific deadline for December grads.  Applications can wait until candidates are nearing completion of Virtual ATI.

Virtual Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) information:

  • Upon completion of the semester, the Department of Nursing will send your name to ATI.

    • If you have an incomplete in a required course, your name will be sent after your requirements are satisfied.
  • You will be contacted though your gmail e-mail.  If you do not have a gmail account, you can set one up by going to google.com and clicking on gmail.  Then update your profile at atitesting.com with your new gmail email address.

  • ATI will send information for you to complete via your gmail address

  • ATI will contact you within two days of your returning the completed information.

  • The Nursing department will receive a weekly progress report every Thursday.

  • The Nursing Department chair will sign the approval for you to take the NCLEX-RN upon your successful completion of Virtual ATI, then send your Certificate of Completion to the Indiana State Board of Nursing.

NOTE:  Fingerprinting for Criminal Background Check in now required:

Effective July 1, 2011, the Indiana State Board of Nursing will require a criminal background check for all new initial applications. Additional information on criminal background checks may be found by clicking on the Criminal Background Check link below.
