College of Education and Public Policy

Intense Intervention Licensure Program is a collaborative initiative between the IPFW and IUSB Special Education Programs. When you successfully complete the course work you will meet the education requirements for initial licensure in Intense Intervention p-12 by the State of Indiana. You will be able to teach students in the moderate and severe special education categories.

You will take all of your courses on IPFW's campus, but they will be jointly held with IUSB classes via 2-way interactive distance learning. The program is a 12 credit hour program and you can complete it in 1 year (fall, spring, summer semester I).

However, depending on previous coursework you may need to take additional coursework in special education. A transcript will be needed from you to determine the exact number of courses required.

You will apply with IUSB for the Intense Intervention License at the end of the program.

Student Testimonial

"... I first enrolled in an online program at another college, but quickly missed working with peers and having face-to-face contact. It was also difficult to get feedback, so I transferred to IPFW's Masters in Special Education program a year later. Through IPFW I was able to add Intense Interventions to my license through a program through IPFW and IUSB and will be graduating in the Fall of 2013 with a Masters in Special Education. ..."
