Kent Kauffman Wins Awards

Kent KauffmanKent Kauffman has won this year's Distance Education Coordinating Committee (DECCO) Award for Innovative Online Teaching awarded by IPFW's CELT.

The purpose of the Award for Innovative Online Teaching is to recognize an individual who has used innovative approaches to online teaching that have measurably enhanced student learning.

The nominee must have designed and taught one or more credit-bearing undergraduate or graduate level online courses with an innovative approach, well-designed course materials and instructional strategies, and a demonstrated rapport with the course participants. The nominee must also document effectiveness in achieving desired learning outcomes in the online course(s).

Kent was also named "Faculty of the Year" by Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity for the second time in the past three years. 

Kent also won the MidAmerican Business Deans Association (MABDA)2013 Innovation in Business Education Award. His innovation in teaching was selected for the Second Place in the program. The award includes a prize of $750. Professor Kauffman will make a presentation about his innovation to about 150 business deans from Mid-American region on October 14, 2013 in Chicago.
