Doermer Distinguished Scholar

Brenna Sherwood is the 2012 Doermer Distinguished Scholar. Brenna is graduating this spring as the valedictorian at Elkhart Memorial High School in Elkhart, Ind. 

   Brenna Sherwood is the 2012 Doermer Distinguished Scholar. Brenna is graduating this spring as the valedictorian at Elkhart Memorial High School in Elkhart, Ind.   The Doermer Distinguished Scholar award covers the cost of room and board, as well as a stipend for books for four years. To be a Doermer Distinguished Scholar, the student must:  •  Already be the recipient of the Chancellor’s Distinguished Scholarship, which covers tuition and student fees for up to four years •  Major in business  To maintain the scholarship, the student must:  •  Be enrolled full time  •  Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater   As the Doermer Distinguished Scholar, Sherwood will be paired with a faculty mentor and a mentor in the business community. She will also be invited to attend Business Advisory Council and Alumni Council meetings and other events, allowing her the opportunity to network with leaders in the business community.   Sherwood will also be a member of the IPFW Women’s Golf team. She played on Elkhart Memorial’s varsity golf team for the past four years and was elected to the All-Conference First Team for those same four years. Sherwood was also involved with student government and is a member of the National Honor Society. Her parents are Sid and Lori Sherwood.
