A new chapter of Students in Free Enterprises (SIFE) was created on IPFW campus in March 2009 under the leadership of Preston Kaehr and the guidance of Dr. William Todorovic. One of the expectations for the SIFE chapter is to apply what they learned in entrepreneurship to solve a community problem or to improve the quality of living in the local community. The first community project the chapter chose was to help the Bosnian refugee minority group in the Fort Wayne area. In April, the chapter held a series of employment-related workshops for the Bosnian refugees. The workshops received financial support from Kathy Carrier who is the CEO of Briljent and an enthusiast of SIFE.
