Dr. Gurgur received her Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Rutgers University, earned an M.S. in Management Science and Operations Research from Warwick Business School, England, and an M.S. in Applied and Mathematical Statistics from Rutgers University. Her research and teaching activities are in supply chain and revenue management, pricing and risk analytics, the interface of operations, finance and risk assessment, with expertise in both predictive and prescriptive modeling. At IPFW she was awarded for Teaching Excellence in the MBA Programs several times as well as received the Doermer School of Business Excellence Award in Recognition of Outstanding Research and Teaching.
Dr. Gurgur consulted for defense, energy, financial and manufacturing companies, including Lockheed Martin, Xcel Energy, Platts Analytics, and Michelin North America. She is a member of EURO Working Group on Operational Research Applied to Health Services, and The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). Related to her current health-care analytics work, she was an invited speaker at the INFORMS Data Mining and Health-Informatics Conference. Her work has been published in scholar journals such as Naval Research Logistics, IIE Transactions, Annals of Operations Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Interfaces, International Journal of Applied Decision Sciences, International Journal of Energy Sector Management, The Engineering Economist, among others. She is Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society faculty; the society recognizes students of achievement in business and management.
Dr. Gurgur is recently inducted into Faculty Row, The Official Home of America’s Top Professors. She is named a Super Professor, consistently demonstrating excellence, passion, and clarity in her academic career.
