Susan Minke received her MBA from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI, in 1980. Professor Minke attained her Certificate of Management Accounting in December, 1987. She joined the faculty of the Richard T. Doermer School of Business in 1989 as an adjunct faculty member, became a Visiting Instructor in 1997 and became a Continuing Lecturer in 1999. Prior faculty positions were a Visiting Instructor at the University of Findlay (Ohio) from 1982-1984 and an adjunct at a business college in Louisville, KY from 1985-1986.
Other prior positions included Regional Accounting Manger and Business Manager for Storer Communications, Inc. in Louisville, KY; Supervisor, Budgets and Payroll, Whirlpool Corporation, Findlay, OH, Senior Budget Accountant, Whirlpool Corporation; and Cost Accountant, Whirlpool Corporation, St. Joseph, MI.
Teaching interests include Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Personal Finance and Accounting Information Systems. Professor Minke emphasizes financial statement analysis, group work, managerial decision making and focus on the accounting core competencies as outlined by the AICPA.
Professor Minke is the faculty advisor for Accounting and Finance co-op and intern students. She is also the Faculty Coordinator for the Introductory Accounting courses at IPFW.
