AAUW Educational Foundation
Educational Foundation provides funds to advance, research, and self-development for women, and to foster equity and positive societal change.In principle and in practice, the AAUW Educational Foundation values and supports diversity. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class. Adell M. White Scholarship
Application Deadline: August 15
The following criteria are general requirements for those whom wish to apply for aid from this scholarship:
- Be a returning adult student, with preference to female students, and currently enrolled at IPFW
- Have been out of high school 5 years or more (general non-traditional student)
- Applicants will be on good academic standing within their school having a GPA of 2.5 or better
- Preference will be given to students majoring in education or teaching fields
- Financial need will be considered in the selection process but is not a singular criteria
- Completion of a scholarship application prepared by the Center for Women and Returning Adults
- Demonstrate in their personality and work a high level of caring for others
The scholarship awarded will be in the amount of $500.00 per year and given to one recipient. Applications are available and will be accepted in the summer prior to the beginning of fall semester through Center of Women and Returning Adults Walb Union 120.
Dr. Bertha Beazley Memorial Endowed Scholarship:
The Indiana BPW Foundation Dr. Bertha Beazley Memorial Endowed Scholarship is presented to a woman entering her junior or senior year of a four-year undergraduate program in a medical field. Financial need is a criterion. This scholarship is only available to a female who has been an Indiana resident for at least one year prior to the date of the application with preference given to an Indiana resident attending an Indiana college or university. Reapplication is required each year. Incomplete applications will be declined. The recipient and alternate will be notified by mail. Scholarship awards will be paid to the recipient's school.
Criteria for judging scholarships:
READ and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING APPLICATION.
Applications that are incomplete or that have missing information will not be considered.
- Scholarships are usually granted for Undergraduate degrees, not Master degrees.
- Scholarships will be awarded with regard to financial need. Former winners may apply again.
Judges look at: The organization of the application, neatness, grammar and if he/she expresses themselves clearly.
- Financial need, as documented by tax return
- Clear goals and realistic expectations
- The transcript of grades indicates the ability to do advanced work (A copy of an "OFFICIAL" transcript will be accepted).
Twelve $500 Scholarships will be given. One (1) to an EEHA member, one (1) for a degree in the medical profession and ten (10) random scholarships.
Membership in EEHA is a qualification only to be considered for the Eleanor Arnold. This does not give preference for the remaining eleven scholarships.

Job Works Career Works Scholarship
Individuals who apply for the scholarship through Job Works (201 E. Rudisill Boulevard Ft. Wayne, IN) may qualify if:
- Have been laid off, downsized, or effected by company closing.
- Are the spouse of an individual who has been laid off.
- Have not been employed, or not employed full time, due to their education commitments and/or need for training.
- A college student who is in his/her last year of the training plan, has regularly attended classes, and maintained a good GPA.
- Have their current financial aid information from FASFA and other funding source (s).
- Did complete the entire Scholarship Application form and did so clearly and did show a strong motivation to succeed.
- Did attach the required information.
- Has selected training that will lead to good, steady employment.
- Demonstrates sincerity to the study and practice activities necessary to be successful in the training and in obtaining employment.
- Has a good plan for paying basic living, childcare, and transportation expenses while in training.
- Shows the ability to develop a good working relationship with the Job Works program, including follow-up after employment is obtained.
Information and Instructions for The Women In Search of Scholastic Help (WISSH) Scholarship is designed to assist women whose education was previously interrupted and who have now returned to school in preparation for entrance into the work force. Financial need and potential the primary criteria for the selection of recipients.
To be eligible, the applicant must:
- Be female
- Be a U.S. citizen currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution in Allen County
- Have experienced an interruption in her post high school education for a period of at least one year
- Have completed a minimum of six semester hours, or equivalent, toward an Associate, Baccalaureate, or advanced degree (These hours must have been completed within the past five years.)
- Be able to establish financial need

Grahame and Thelma Somerville Scholarship
The Grahame and Thelma Somerville Scholarship was established to Continued education for people classified as non-traditional students.
Non-Traditional Student is defined as one who did NOT begin their college immediately upon the completion of their high school career, but rather is one who graduated from high school or received their GED and delayed the entrance into college.
The fund is designed to give preference to non-traditional students who wish to further their education and/or training as a way of enhancing their employment skills.
Qualified recipients include adult students who wish to re-enter the job market, advance in their current field, or
enter the job market for the first time after hardship circumstances, such as divorce, health complications involving family members, loss of employment, or other obstacles (barriers) and live within 50 miles of Fort Wayne, Indiana and attend a college, university technical or trade school located within 50 miles of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Jeannette
Rankin Foundation/Women's Education Fund
The Jeannette Rankin Foundation grants are awarded to low-income women who are age 35 or older. To qualify for this award, you must be a US citizen and currently accepted or enrolled in a certified course of technical/vocational training or an undergraduate degree program. The grants are non-renewable and cannot be used toward a graduate degree. The ideal applicant will be a promising student with clear goals and serious financial need.
Applications are only available from November through mid-February. During these months, you can request an application packet by mailing a self-addressed stamped envelope or visit the web site to download the materials.

Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship
The members of the Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship Committee would like you to apply for the Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship.
The purpose of the Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship is to recognize superior scholarship in all disciplines.
Fellowships are awarded for full-time, first-year graduate, or professional study. Awardees who qualify for the full stipend receive $7,000. Recipients who obtain additional grants or financial support from other sources will be awarded the fellowship with a reduced stipend, the minimum being $1,000. Honorable mention awards are $1,000.
Applications must be submitted to any member of the Phi Kappa Phi graduate fellowship Committee by February 1, 2002. Shortly thereafter, the Committee will select the IPFW campus nominee and an alternate. The nominee will be provided feedback to strengthen his/her final application. All applicants will be notified of the IPFW selection status by March 1, 2002. Announcement of the fellowship and honorable mention recipients will be made by the National Office soon after April 1.

Business and Professional Women's Foundation Career Advancement
Scholarship Criteria: Female 25 years of age or older AND a U.S. Citizen Demonstrate critical financial need-
Officially accepted into an accredited program or course of study at U.S. institution, including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands
- Graduating within 12 to 24 months from date of grant
- Demonstrate clear career plans

Withers Scholars Grant
Criteria:Student must be majoring in elementary education, history, political science, English, communication, theatre or library science
- The student must have junior, senior, or graduate class standing at IPFW the year of the award
- The student must have junior, senior, or graduate class standing at IPFW the year of the award
- The student must have minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The student must enroll full time each semester of the award (12-15 credit hours).

Women in Transition Scholarship
The Indiana BPW Foundation Women in Transition Scholarship is presented to a woman who is re-entering the workforce, changing careers, or is a displaced worker and who has applied to a post-secondary institution for at least part-time attendance.
Financial need is a criterion. This scholarship is only available to a female who is 30 years of age or older and who has been an Indiana resident for at least one year prior to the date of the application. Reapplication is required each year. Incomplete applications will be declined. The recipient and alternate will be notified by mail. Scholarship awards will be paid to the recipient's school.

Working Woman Scholarship
The Indiana BPW Foundation Working Woman Scholarship is presented to a woman who is employed at least 20 Hours per week and has applied to or is attending a post-secondary institution, carrying at least a part-time class schedule. Financial heed is a criterion. This scholarship is only available to a female 25 years of age or older and ho has been an Indiana resident for at least one year prior to the date of the application. Reapplication is required each year. Incomplete applications will be declined. The recipient and alternate will be notified by mail. Scholarship awards will be paid to recipient's school.

Fort Wayne/Kekionga Business & Professional Women Scholarship
The Fort Wayne/Kekionga Business & Professional Women (BPW) Scholarship is presented to men and women who are starting college after high school or returning to college, in the state of Indiana. It is expected of the recipient of the scholarship to participate with one activity with the Fort Wayne/Kekionga Business & Professional Women organization within one year of receipt of scholarship. Consider being a member of BPW during or after college.
