Monthly Meeting Minutes

February 20, 2007

 

 

MEMBERS PRESENT:         Barbara Biedermann, Bob Brooks, Joleen Downs, Cornelius Grant,

                                                Susan Humphrey, Susan Lehman, Louise Misegades, Christina Rockwell,

                                                Dennis Shadle, and Jan-Marie Zimmerman

 

MEMBERS ABSENT:                       Kelly Klinker and Shay McAllister

 

GUESTS:                                Jim Ferguson and Teresa Goodwin

 

 

 

CALL TO ORDER                The meeting was called to order at 1:34 p.m.

 

 

ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW MEMBER

 

Susan Lehman announced that Vice Chancellor Branson has asked that Kelly Klinker step in to serve for

Susan Williams who is unable to complete her term which ends on August 31, 2009.  The committee wishes to thank Susan for her service.

 

 

REPORT ON WEST LAFAYETTE MEETING

 

Louise Misegades.  Louise was unable to attend the last meeting due to the blizzard. 

 

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

Campus Traffic Committee.  Dennis Shadle reported that the committee meets again on February 27. 

 

Diversity Council.  Jan-Marie Zimmerman reported on the January 12 meeting.  Mary Lehto has asked the committee to include the Diversity Game as part of their on-going plan.  The Diversity Game is a game where players build an ideal community.  They are working on putting together a group to chair this project.  Safe Zone posters have been distributed across campus to advertise their training programs.  The 2005 Diversity Accomplishments document was presented to the committee. 

 

Calendar Sub-Committee.  Susan Humphrey reported that this group has sent their suggestions to the Faculty Senate for their approval when they meet on February 28. 

 

Fundraising Committee.  Christina Rockwell reported that the Book Fair was pushed back a day due to the campus closing.  The amount raised is not yet available.  She plans to schedule the candle sale sometime in May. 

 

Grant Committee.  Susan Humphrey is preparing a flyer announcing the start up of the grants again for the fall semester.  Susan also plans to set up a meeting to finalize the new guidelines for the grants. 

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

Summerfest.  Barbara Biedermann and Bob Brooks volunteered to co-chair this event.  Themes were discussed.  Barbara has asked everyone on the committee to participate and will be contacting everyone to set up a meeting. 

 

Pride Plus Awards.  Susan Humphrey is sending out a flyer asking for nominations for the Pride Plus awards.  Employees will be directed to the CSSAC web site for further information on completing the nomination form, etc. 

 

Mammogram Program.  Jan-Marie Zimmerman has information about this mobile service program if anyone is interested.  

 

 

NEW BUSINESS 

 

Centerpieces for Luncheon.  Susan Lehman has asked for a few volunteers to handle the centerpieces at the Clerical and Service Staff Recognition Luncheon on April 18.  Louise Misegades and Christina Rockwell volunteered.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:09 p.m.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in KT 178.
