CALL TO ORDER. After a carry-in lunch to welcome the new members, Nancy called the meeting to order.

THE CO-CHAIRS' REPORT

Thanks. Walter Branson presented certificates of appreciation and a thank you for a job well done to those members who have completed their terms on CSSAC. Those members are Deb Balram, Diann Keele, Dennis Shadle, Linda Whitlock, and Nancy Wunrow.

Welcome. The new members are Christine Brown - Psychology, Mary Lou Hutter - Continuing Education, Jennifer Lomont - Health Information Technology, Jim Meier - Building Services, Louise Pruse - Consumer and Family Sciences, Clarence Tennis - Geosciences. Bob Krach and Anna Martin will serve as co-chairs.

West Lafayette. Bob Krach attended the June meeting of CSSAC at Calumet where the West Lafayette group and all the regional campuses met. West Lafayette is working on the inclimate weather policy and considering putting radios in all West Lafayette buildings so that all employees can be informed of weather emergencies.

Although Fort Wayne's CSSAC is not inclined to help West Lafayette in changing the definition of family, there is still a push for that change among some employee's there.

2001 is the year that Fort Wayne welcomes the other campus CSSACs. That meeting will be held on June 12. Louise Pruse will start planning the lunch.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Year-End Reports. Year-end reports were given by the sub-committee participants.

Financial Report. Linda Whitlock reported that there is a balance of $4,628.38 and that in Fall 1999 there were 6 dependent grants and 11 employee grants and in Spring 2000 there were 10 dependents and 11 employees.

OLD BUSINESS

HRIS. Jim Ferguson reported that we had a simulation of the new Human Resource Information System here at Fort Wayne recently. We will be piloting the project this summer.

NEW BUSINESS

There will be no CSSAC meeting in July and August.

The next meeting will be held on September 12, 2000, at 1:30 in KT 178.

Respectfully submitted,

Peggy Mossing

Recording Secretary

Q. I feel the paper recycling program is very useful for the campus. However, there seems to be some confusion about what can be recycled. Could the people in charge refresh our memories?

A. Our current recycling program accepts the following types of paper in all bins:

magazines, newspapers, window envelopes,

white paper, post-it notes, computer paper,

colored paper, kraft envelopes, copy paper ream wrappers,

manila file folders, NCR carbonless forms, calculator tape,

fax paper, blue prints, posters (glossy or non-glossy),

shredded paper

Phone books and hard bound books are accepted by our recycler, but they must be contained separately and are a contaminant to each other and "mixed" paper.

Cardboard is also recycled at the Kettler Hall dock in a special dumpster and the Biology Club recycles all of the aluminum cans on campus from special designated bins.
