  • MS: Middle School, grades 6-8; HS: High School, grades 9-12; Jr-Sr: Junior Senior High School, Grades 7-12

  • * Calculated by Community Research Institute by taking school enrollment and dividing by the reported teacher FTE. This data is found in each School Profile on the Indiana Department of Education web site.
** Note: Average Class size as reported in School Corporations' Annual Performance Report, which reports elementary schools class size only. To access the four school corporations' APR, click here.

***Formerly Ben F. Geyer MS, but was restructured after failing to meet No Child Left Behind. It now functions as a Montessori school.

Why the difference between average class size and calculated students to teacher ratio? Additional specialty teachers, such as science, art, music, physical education, reading, and basic skills teachers can account for a reduced number when comparing the student to teacher ratio and the average class size.

    Definitions, Sources, and Caveats:
All data is from the Indiana Department of Education web site, with the exception of the Calculated Students to Teacher Ratios, which was calculated by CRI, as defined above.
