Northeast Indiana Surveillance program is comprised of the following counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, and Whitley.


The above distribution reflects the diseases in the 12 county region. Age distribution was not obtained for Allen County, but the following is known:
Chlamydia: 80.6 percent of the cases in 2007 were in Allen County. This is an Allen County rate of 507.3 per 100,000 population and represents a 0.2 percent decrease from 2006.
Gonorrhea: 92.0 percent of the cases in 2007 were in Allen County. This is an Allen County rate of 199.2 per 100,000 population and represents a 5.6 percent decrease from 2006.
HIV: 66.6 percent of HIV cases were from Allen County. This is a 6.0 rate per 100,000 population.

Link to 2007 INDIANA YOUTH RISK BEHAVIOR SURVEY
Indiana State Department of Health administers this survey in high schools in Indiana. In 2007, 44 high schools and 2,331 students participated. This survey is part of a national effort by the CDC to monitor health risks and behaviors. Data reported on risky behavior such as binge drinking, smoking, weapon carrying, overweight, suicide.
