Blue and White School Supply Project

The IPFW Blue and White Committee is pleased to report that their service project to collect school supplies on behalf of Crossroad during Summerfest 2016 was a great success. IPFW employees were very generous in contributing more than $220 toward gift cards and other school and art supplies.

Crossroad Chief Development Officer Kyle Zanker and Zenovia Pearson, development support staff, were presented with the gifts on Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Keith R. Busse Steel Dynamics Alumni Center just in time for the start of school. “We are so thankful for your generous employees,” said Zanker. “We look forward to other opportunities in the future where we can work together on behalf of our students.”

Contributions of money and supplies were only part of the great connections made on July 27 during the annual employee summer celebration. Follett’s Bookstore on the IPFW campus is very interested in making connections with Crossroad. Follett’s has been challenged by their corporate offices to develop a ‘service project.’

“We would like to conduct a school supply drive during Rush Week,” explained Jamie Sinninger, Follett department manager. “Continuing this relationship with Crossroad seemed like a natural fit for our organization and plans are underway to further benefit these students.”

21st Century Scholars Support Specialist Cicelle Beemon also asked to be connected with this organization during Summerfest.  She is working hard to sign up more 7th and 8th grade students for this excellent program and she is hoping to find possible candidates within the Crossroad program.

The Blue and White Committee service project coordinator Susan Domer could not be more pleased with the results. “I want to personally thank all of my committee volunteers who helped with the event and for the support of Alumni Relations,” said Domer. “I appreciate working with so many generous colleagues who look for opportunities to make an impact on our community whenever they are presented with that challenge.”
