Administrative & Professional Staff Advisory Council (APSAC)

Professional Development

The purpose of the Professional Development Grant is to provide financial support to IPFW Administrative/Professional staff members who wish to continue their education through work-related conferences, lectures, workshops, seminars and classes.

  • Administrative and professional staff may receive up to $500 once every two years, but submission does not guarantee funding.
  • The APSAC steering committee has the right to adjust the award to less than $500.
  • The event for which an Administrative/Professional staff member is requesting reimbursement must benefit the employee, their department, and the university.
  • The request must be submitted by the grant period deadlines and the request will be discussed at the August and December APSAC steering committee meetings and voted on by a quorum of APSAC Steering Committee Members.
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Applicants will be notified of their application’s status after the APSAC steering committee meeting in which the applications are discussed.
  • Standard university travel policies and procedures will apply.
  • Funding sources for the grant is from proceeds received through fund raising and donations.
  • Awardees will appear in the APSAC minutes which are posted on the web.
  • Awardees will be asked to attend an APSAC steering committee meeting to give a brief summary of what they learned from their professional development opportunity.
