Overview
As a student-centered institution and responsible employer, IPFW is committed to offering access to affordable, quality child care for it’s students and employees. That commitment is reflected in the university’s ongoing collaboration with TLC—The Learning Center (TLC), which provides part- and full-time care for children from infants to 13 years of age at reduced rates to IPFW students, staff, and faculty.
TLC is a licensed child-care facility, and it is their goal to become accredited as well. The TLC philosophy is that quality child care is an educational activity, and the staff utilizes the Creative Curriculum as a framework informing their work with children. In addition to providing quality child care at reduced rates to IPFW students, staff, and faculty, the university’s agreement with TLC includes offering student employment opportunities and supervised student learning experiences (for students in education and other fields) at the facility.
TLC is located at 2041 Reed Road (just off the intersection of State and Reed). Its hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. Information regarding TLC’s rates and application process are available at TLC or by phone 260-424-8852.
