National Security
The chancellor discusses how national security has quickly changed from when the former Soviet Union was the principal U.S. adversary to the present, when adversaries are less individually threatening but more numerous. The intelligence community has changed from a single-country focus to a multiple-target, less-focused environment. The talk will center on how the intelligence community can change its own behavior to provide similar support for national security in the future as it has in the past. Questions will be raised about the efficiency of various means of collecting information.
