Meet Eric

Image of Eric who is a CSR staff person

My name is Eric Egler. I am a senior pursuing a Business Management major at IPFW. I was recently inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors Society and selected to participate in the International Business Administration program that will partner with Fort Wayne Metals this spring. I am looking forward to gaining valuable experience with CSR, especially pertaining to survey data analysis and report generation. This hands-on experience will help to reinforce the knowledge I have learned in class, and enhance my skill-set as I start to look for employment after graduation this spring. I am excited to work with Professor Holland and all the staff at CSR.

Meet Ann

I feel honored to be a returning member of the Center for Social Research’s team. My name is Ann, and this past summer I worked as a transcriptionist for Donna Holland, Director of the Center. In February I returned with great excitement to once again work at the Center for Social Research.

As a senior majoring in Sociology at IPFW, the opportunity of working at the Center has been a highlight of my academic career. Prior to working as a transcriptionist, I received two certifications which focus on conducting research responsibly and research ethics. As a transcriber this past summer, I witnessed the extraordinary interviewing skills of the Center’s Director, Donna Holland. She has a wonderful ability of combining knowledge and research expertise with an interview style that shows she is a people person with excellent communication skills. Previously I attended and graduated from Ivy Tech Community College. While enrolled there I gained related employment experience as an Office Assistant. Additionally, I had the unpaid work opportunity of being the primary writer of a grant. Membership in the Alpha Tau Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa provided me with this grant writing experience. Grant approval occurred, which provided partial funding for a community service project. Reasons I enjoy working at the Center for Social Research are two-fold. First, Donna Holland is an extraordinary Director, modeling specifics of how to conduct outstanding social research. Secondly, I have a passion for research and grants. From the outset of my transcribing position this summer, it was evident that the Center for Social Research is a high caliber research center. Clients are provided research of excellent quality throughout all research stages, including research design, collecting and compiling research data, and reporting findings. It is a great privilege for me to work under Donna Holland because she exemplifies excellence.

Meet Sierra

My name is Sierra Grayson. I’m a sophomore double majoring in Marketing and Management and minoring in Communication. I’ve started working at the CSR in November 2013 and I work on newsletters, editing research proposals, along with many other tasks. I really enjoy how the CSR allows me to build and expand my skillset. Learning unique skills such as survey design and implementation will help me in my future job search.

Meet Bill

My name is Bill Millhouse. I am a History major with a Medieval Studies minor. I started working at the CSR in late November 2013. What I enjoy best about working at the CSR is that I am constantly learning new information. I am also gaining useful office skills pertaining to mailing, office organization, data entry, grant writing, and research.
