MISSION

 

The primary mission of the Institute for Research, Scholarship, and Creative Endeavors (IRSC) is to provide various support mechanisms, including funding and training, to faculty and students for research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors. In addition, IRSC promotes a campus-wide culture of research, scholarship, and creative endeavors (RSC) that complements and enhances the traditions and practices of the Colleges, Schools, and departments across IPFW while supporting the retention and recruitment of both faculty and students. Further, IRSC promotes the RSC of faculty and students across the campus and to the greater community.

 

VISION


Create an environment where faculty and student research is enhanced and recognized both on and off campus.

Ensure that faculty and students are, and feel, supported in their research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.

Increase the broader impacts of research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors across campus and in the community.

Facilitate the acquisition of external support for research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.

Increase community engagement involving research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors at IPFW.

 

GOALS

 

Nurture a campus-wide culture of research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.

 Broaden and encourage faculty and student engagement in research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.

 Enhance collaboration among faculty engaged in research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors with various units on campus in the support of the broader campus goals and mission.

 Expand community understanding and appreciation, on and off campus, of faculty and student research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.

 Ensure faculty and students receive adequate support and recognition for research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.
