Earn a CELT Certificate of Completion
Starting with the Fall 2011 semester, CELT is pleased to offer two workshop series. Each series has three workshops. You will be eligible to receive a CELT Certificate of Completion should you:
- Attend all three workshops in the series (each series is given twice), and
- Provide evidence of how you have used the content of any or all of the workshops in your teaching.
CELT’s “Re-Visioning Course Design” series has three workshops: “Re-Visioning the Course Syllabus,” “How the ARCS Model Can Help to Increase Student Motivation,” and “Content, Presentation, and Learning.”
Examples of evidence you might submit to earn the certificate are: a revised syllabus along with an explanation for the changes; description of an activity or technique that you have used or plan to use, along with your rationale and or the results; a visual you have created along with a rationale.
CELT’s “Re-visioning Assessments” series has three workshops: “Plagiarism-Proofing Online Course Assignments,” “Rubrics for Learning and Grading,” Making Evaluation Easier with Rubrics and Blackboard Learn.”
Examples of evidence you might submit to earn the certificate are: a copy of a rubric that you have designed or re-designed along with an explanation of your rationale; copies of your old and new writing assignments.
You can probably think of other examples of evidence along these lines. (These items will not, of course, be evaluated. Their value is entirely intrinsic.) Please send your work via campus mail to Ludy Goodson in CELT, Kettler 234 , or email your work to Ludy at goodsonl@ipfw.edu.
