Staff Role

As the Associate Director of Group Academic Support, I oversee various programs focused at providing group academic assistance for IPFW students. My current areas of interest are how the brain learns best, what motivates students to succeed, and emotional intelligence.

Supplemental Instruction is a program focused at traditionally difficult courses where students earn high numbers of D or F grades or withdrawals. This is a peer lead program that works on how to study a particular course subject as well as what to study. It's great for all students who want to improve grades and understanding of course material.

Critical Inquiry is always linked to another heavy reading disciplilne course. Students learn to read, analyze, and understand complex reading material from their discipline course and from other sources. It's great for students who want to strengthen reading and critical thinking skills.

Critical Behaviors for Success focuses on those behaviors that will make students successful in college and in life, such as motivation, confidence, and leadership. It's great for students ready to take charge of their own lives.
