CASA Student Employment
Positions Available
Math Test Center
The following positions for student workers are are available in the Math Test Center:
- Proctors
- Students in this position will be present during prescribed test times to administer the tests.
- Flex Pace Graders
- Grading will be done in the afternoon for module exams taken on that day (MA 109, MA 113).
- Teaching Assistants
- Expected to work five hours per week, per course. Three of those hours are in the classroom and the remaining two hours are spent proctoring exams, at test review (going over graded exams with students), grading exams, or being available for drop-in tutoring. Classes meet on MWF at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m. (MA 109, MA 113).
- Test Reviewers
- Will be available during prescribed times (9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.) to go over graded tests and answer students’ questions about their exam problems. (MA 113, MA 229)
- Out-of-Class Testing Graders
- Will pick up and grade tests after the Test Center closes on the day they are taken and return them by 8:30 a.m. the next morning. There will be three weeks of test cycles in each course. (MA 113, MA 229)
Supplemental Instruction
CASA is looking for good students to be Supplemental Instruction leaders for certain difficult courses at IPFW.
We will train students to help fellow students be more successful in this course. We pay students to attend the target class again and then hold SI sessions two or three times a week, where they discuss the course material and learning strategies.
Being an SI Leader allows students to:
- Hold a prestigious job on campus
- Help other students understand the learning process
- Understand material better
- Help fellow students
- Improve communication skills
- Contribute the position to a good resume or graduate school application
Eligibility
Candidates for the SI Leader position must:
- Have been at IPFW for at least one semester
- Have taken the target class(es)
- Have earned an A or B in the target class
- Have a written recommendation from the professor or the department

Tutoring

Who should apply?
Tutoring is a peer tutoring program. Students need to have had the class, received an A or B and have the recommendation of the professor.
