John Bradley was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Massachusetts, Nebraska, Long Island, and Minnesota. He lives in DeKalb, Illinois, where he teaches writing at Northern Illinois University. His books include Love-in-Idleness (Word Works Press, 1989), winner of the Washington Prize; Terrestrial Music (Curbstone Press, 2006); You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know (Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 2010); and Trancelumination (Lowbrow Press, 2011).
