Community Orchestra featuring IPFW Opera Ensemble

The first half of the concert will feature IPFW Concerto/Aria competition winner Christopher Adamisin performing Timofei Dokshizer’s show-stopping version of Gershwin’s Rhapsody In Blue for Trumpet and Orchestra. Then the Community Orchestra and IPFW Opera Ensemble will collaborate on Mozart’s L’Impresario. The comedic opera portrays the misadventures of Frank, an entrepreneur as he struggles to pull together a company of actors riddled with eccentricities and rivalries while dancing around possible financial ruin. Help and hope are found in the form of a banker who asks that in return Frank pretend to engage his lover, Madam Pfiel. Jealousy and rivalries erupt as the comedy ensues.
