Strategic Plan

The strategic plan for the Richard T. Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences consists of three interrelated parts: the Vision Statement, the Mission Statement, and the Strategic Goals to carry out the vision and mission.

Vision Statement

The Richard T. Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences sees itself becoming a leading urban regional business school with national recognition.

Mission Statement

The Richard T. Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences strives for excellence in business education and achievement in supporting regional economic development.

Strategic Goals

The Richard T. Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences strives to achieve the mission, goals and objectives have been established for the following five areas:

  1. Curriculum
    • Continuously improve our undergraduate and graduate business curricula consistent with changes in the business environment.
    • Curriculum improvement and implementation as identified by the assessment process.
  2. Students
    • The quality and diversity of the Richard T. Doermer SBMS student body will reflect the contemporary business and societal environment of its stakeholders, and its size will be consistent with the available resources for high quality program delivery.
  3. Faculty/Staff Development
    • Recruit, develop and retain faculty and staff who continuously improve the teaching, intellectual contribution, and service effectiveness of the school.
  4. External Relationships
    • Build and strengthen relationships that facilitate an exchange of knowledge with the business community, professional organizations, and other constituents, in order to support regional economic growth.
  5. Resource Enhancement (Advancement)
    • Raise external funds and resources that facilitate the implementation of the Strategic Plan.
