About Us
From the Dean
Welcome to the Richard T. Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences. We invite you to meet our students, faculty, administrators, alumni, benefactors and friends…to read about the value added learning the School offers to students. It includes learning abroad, entrepreneurship, RFID technology, SAP, business ethics, internships, co-operative education, project work, teamwork, research opportunities with other students or with the School’s faculty, and learning experiences in which our students help businesses with social missions grow and thrive. At the Doermer School, you will see firsthand the challenges of planning, launching, and growing a small business…a minority owned business.
We connect your studies with the practice of business throughout northeast Indiana. We are proud of the way in which we link the learning of the classroom with its practice. We do this through project work in teams, competitions in which the School’s students vie with counterparts throughout the region in analyzing a current business situation facing a local company, or special projects in which a team of students and faculty look for ways to improve a local business. These learning experiences are occasions for students to see the placement opportunities with northeast Indiana companies. Students will find excellent career opportunities with regional companies. We encourage students to shine…to show their very best when working with executives and managers in these learning situations. They may offer the first job.
Our faculty love to teach and guide learning. They are good at it. They win awards and recognitions from students, alumni, and others for the effectiveness of the learning they facilitate. The School’s faculty takes great pride in the success and accomplishments of students. If you so wish, you can perform research with a faculty member.
Please read on. I am sure you will see the special learning that takes place here at the Richard T. Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences.
Sincerely,
John F. Wellington, Ph.D.
