The AWP Summer Institute is a six hour graduate course designed to allow K-16 teachers to become critical reflective practitioners, capable of utilizing writers' workshop and other best writing practices to meet the various needs of their diverse students. This course is designed to professionally develop teachers as leaders in their school who are equipped with presentation skills to instruct teaching colleagues through professional development training within their district and in other districts.
One pre-institute Saturday workshop is scheduled for April 16, 2011. The 2011 Summer Institute begins on Monday, June 20, and runs through Friday, July 15, 2011.
