Volleydons Fall in Exhibition

Fort Wayne, IN- IPFW opened the exhibition portion of their 2005-06 season on Friday night, at the Hilliard Gates Center, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Long Beach State 49ers.

The Mastodons won game one 30-27, but fell in the final three 30-22, 30-22, and 30-27.

Findlay University transfer C.J. Macias led the 'Dons with 16 kills. Junior setter Colin Lundeen added 45 assists and nine digs in his first match at IPFW.

The 49ers were led by Robert Tarr who put down a match-high 24 balls. Duncan Budinger and Francisco Valdez each scored in double figures with 19 and 11 kills respectively.

The same two teams will play again tomorrow night as the tipoff to a men's volleyball/men's basketball, homecoming doubleheader at the Memorial Coliseum. Please not the new match time of 5pm.
