#7 49ers Sweep 'Dons

Long Beach, CA- The No. 7-ranked Long Beach State men¹s volleyball team
defeated the IPFW Mastodons, 3-0 in the final day of the Carson Double
Tree/Active Ankle Volleyball Tournament at The Pyramid on Saturday night.

Game scores were 30-21, 30-23, 30-21.

Long Beach State improved to 14-7, while IPFW dropped to 8-10. LBSU has won
a season-high five straight matches. IPFW has dropped their third straight, all non-conference matches.

Norm Hutton paced the 49ers with 12 kills, while teammates Nathan Hagstrom,
Duncan Budinger, and Robert Tarr all registered seven kills each.

Senior opposite Matt Zbyszewski (who was named to the all-tournament team) led IPFW with 13 kills in the losing effort. The Mastodons did out-block LBSU, 9-7.5.

IPFW will play host to Cal State Northridge for two more non-conference matches (3/25-3/26) before returning to MIVA play, hosting Loyola-Chicago on April 1st.
