After finishing one game shy of the NCAA men's volleyball tournament
in 2005, IPFW head coach Arnie Ball has announced the signing
of three impact players for the 2006 season.
Colin
Lundeen will be a junior in 2006,
after transferring to IPFW from Camosun Junior College in
Victoria, British Columbia. The 6-3 setter
will bring stability to a position that was a challenge for
the 'Dons in '05. "We are very fortunate to find someone of
Colin's ability at the setter position," Coach Ball said. "Colin
brings a wealth of experience and will give us the leadership
that is needed in this position for us to return to the top."
Corey
Stewart will join brother Josh Stewart, who had
a very impressive freshman campaign in the middle for IPFW
last season. Stewart, like Lundeen, is also a 6-3 setter.
He graduated this past year from St. Mary's High School,
in
St. Mary's,
Ontario,
Canada. "We have hit a homerun with the Stewart family,"
Ball said. "Corey is athletic, a very good student, and will
bring depth to us for the next four years at the setter position.
Corey's signing puts us in great shape."
Vitor
Oliveria is a sophomore transfer student from Brazil.
The Caxias do Sul native graduated from Cetec High School,
and will have
three years of eligibility at IPFW. He is a 6-7 banger at
the outside position. "Vitor is a college transfer that we
are very excited about," Ball stated. "He brings a great deal
of experience to us and will give us the firepower we are seeking
on the leftside."
