Matty Triples Up
IPFW falls two to 12th

Columbus, OH-For the third time this season, IPFW opposite Matt Zbyszewski (Sr., 6-4, Toronto,Canada/Martingrove High School) has been selected as the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Player of the Week.

In a 3-2 (30-28, 26-30, 30-22, 18-30,19-21) loss against Ball State, Zbyszewski had a match-high 37.5 points. He recorded 30 kills, five ace serves and five assist blocks. He hit .369 in the match and added nine digs.

In IPFW’s 3-0 (30-23, 30-26, 30-22) victory against Mercyhurst, he recorded 21.5 points with 13 kills, a career-high seven ace serves and three assist blocks. He added six digs in the match while hitting .333. For the weekend, Zbyszewski averaged 7.38 points per game. He averaged 5.38 kills, 1.50 aces, and 1.00 blocks per game.

Zbyszewski currently leads the nation in points (6.90) and kills (5.89) per game.

In the latest USA Today/AVCA Coaches poll, the Mastodons have fallen two spots to #12. They face Findlay University tonight, and Loyola and Clarke Universities this weekend.
