Lose Fifth Straight
Muncie,
IN- The IPFW men's volleyball team served for the match
four times in the fifth and final game of tonight's match with
Ball State, but couldn't get that elusive match point to fall.
The 'Dons drop a heartbreaker to the Cardinals 3-2.
The match-line
read 30-28, 26-30, 30-22, 18-30, and 21-19
for Ball State.
IPFW led 15-14,
17-16, 18-17, and 19-18 in the final set, before falling, after
staving off one match point against of their own.
Matt
Zbyszewski (RS/Toronto, Ontario, Canada) had a monster
night. The MIVA kill leader registered 30 in the match. He also
had 5 service aces and nine digs.
Dennis
Santiago (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) booked a double-double
with 57 assists and 10 digs.
IPFW combined
for 29 block assists, with Serdar Sikca (Istanbul,
Turkey) getting twelve. He also had eight digs.
Ball State
(15-6, 8-2 MIVA) was led by Jary Delgado with 27 kills, including
the match-winner, and 14 digs.
IPFW (10-7,
8-2) will look to snap their five game losing streak Saturday
night (3/27), hosting Mercyhurst College, in the Mastodons' final
regular season home match. Game time on Senior Night is 7pm.
