Swept by Gauchos
Santa
Barbara, Calif.-Outside hitter Evan Patak had match-high
15 kills, four service aces and five block assists to lead the
Gauchos men's volleyball team to a 30-20, 30-27, 30-27 win over
visiting IPFW Friday night in Robertson Gym.
The Gauchos, now 11-9 overall and 6-8 in the Mountain Pacific
Sports Federation hit .340 as a team. Freshmen outside hitter
Adam Ulfers also contributed 13 kills and five block assists.
Jake Wiens and Micheal Kennedy had 10 kills each. Kennedy had
a match-high 6 block assists to help pace the Gauchos to the win.
Freshmen setter Bryan Berman had match-high 46 assists. Libero
Aaron Mansfield had 13 digs.
The Mastodons, now 10-3 overall and 8-2 in the Midwest Intercollegiate
Volleyball Association, hit .083 as a team. Outside hitter Matt
Zbyszewski had seven kills while Mitch Dreisbach
had six kills. Setter Dennis Santiago had 25
assists. Libero Isaac White had two digs.
The Mastodons
return to action on Wednesday night (3/17), visting Cal State
Northridge at 10pm.
