Sign Setter
Fort
Wayne, IN-
With the departure of starting setter Dennis Santiago, the IPFW
men’s volleyball needed to fill that hole. They believe they have
in a BIG way.
Head Coach Arnie Ball has announced that 6’6” Steve
Rogers has
signed a letter of intent to join the Mastodons program.
Rogers, (Windsor,
Ontario, Canada) is a graduate of Vincent Massey High School.
He is a three-year starter who was named
to the WECSSAA first-team this past season.
The 6’6” Rogers is nearly four inches taller than Santiago,
who skipped his senior season to play professionally in Puerto
Rico.
“It will be great to have an opportunity to work with a tall
setter once again,” said coach Ball. “Steve brings to us an opportunity
to continue our tradition of big setters,” he added. That tradition
includes “All-World” and USA Olympic setter Lloy Ball who was
6’9”. “Steve’s work ethic and determination will be a big factor
in our success next season.”
Rogers intends to study biology/chemistry.
