High School
Quinones played his high school volleyball at Colegio Rosa-Bell in Puerto Rico. As a setter for Coach Epique Olazagasti’s Cougars, he was named to the All-Tournament Team of the 2002 Junior Olympics. He was also named to the All-Tournament Team of the Copa Burger King-Nuevo Dia Classic.

Michael is the son of Gilberto Quiñones and Enid Sánchez.
