Receives Offensive POW

IPFW's Nicole Howell was named Offensive Player of the Week
by Division I Independent sports information directors for the week of September
27.
In three matches last week Howell knocked down 44 kills,
averaging 4.89 per game. Howell also dug up 29 balls,
averaging 3.22 per game.
The Mastodons defeated Ball
State for the first time in IPFW's Division I history
in front of a record crowd (914) on Tuesday as
Howell also set personal career bests. She knocked down
20 kills with only three errors in 38 attempts (.447).
Against Cornell Howell matched her earlier week total
of 20 kills as the Mastodons lost only their second match
this season, they are now 11-2.
Others nominated included: Kim Hebl, North Dakota State
and Danielle Holthe, Texas-Pan American.
