Gator Not on the Menu

Gainesville, FL - IPFW put their unblemished record on the line with competition against #7 Florida at the Campus USA Credit Union Classic. The Gators handed the Mastodons their first loss in three games (14-30, 17-30, 19-30).

IPFW was led by Amanda Pfister and Fabiana Souza with six kills each. Nicole Howell and Claire Jackson each chipped in five kills.

Erika Leitzke put up 14 assists and Jessica Dominiak posted 10 assists.

Defensively, Howell, Dominiak and Cynara Martins each dug up eight balls. Souza posted one solo and three assists in the blocking department.

For Florida, Jane Collymore knocked down 14 kills while Angie McGinnis had 36 assists.

Peachy Jankowski got the chance to play against a former teammate while at UF. McGinnis of Florida and Jankowski attended and played volleyball together while at Fraser High.

The Mastodons will face the Eagles of Eastern Michigan on Saturday at 3:00 pm in the consolation match. You can follow the game with live stats at www.gatorzone.com.

The ladies next home match is Tuesday September 20 versus Ball State starting at 7:00 pm.
