Souza
Breaks Career Record Over the Weekend
Macomb,
IL -
It didn't take long for senior Fabiana Souza to break
the career record in kills this season. Just seven matches into the season
Souza broke the record in the Mastodons morning match against Southern
Mississippi
at the Western Illinois Pizza Hut Invitational.
Souza
put herself into IPFW's record books for a second time
by reaching and breaking the career kill record set by
Laura Douglas in 2000 with 1,895 kills. Souza knocked down
17 kills in Saturday morning's match to take the record to
1,901.
Souza
broke the single season kill record last year in the Mastodons
final match of the Independent Tournament by knocking down
kill number 621. The previous record had stood for 20 years,
set by Connette Saylor in 1984.
