Senior Fabiana Souza was named the Independent Offensive
Player of the Week for the week of September 6 as voted on by sports information
directors.
Souza
is currently averaging 5.29 kills/game after four matches
and has a .391 hitting percentage. She is just 40 kills
away from IPFW’s career kills record of 1,895. In the Hofstra
Invitational, Souza
had two matches of 20+ kills and was named MVP of the tournament. The
Mastodons are currently undefeated, 4-0.
Others nominated include Allison Baker, Providence; Stephanie
McFarland, Utah Valley State; and Amanda Wiggins, Northern
Colorado.
