Mastodons
Fall in Four at St. Louis
Saint
Louis, MO - The Women's Volleyball team traveled
to Saint Louis University for their final road match
before the Independent Tournament at Northern Colorado.
The Mastodons started out on top, taking game one, but
fell in four to the Billikens, 3-1.
The Mastodons
took game one with a final of 30-24 and held on to the
end of game two but the Billikens stayed in front, 34-32.
Games three and four were all Saint Louis as they took
them, 30-25, 30-24.
Nicole
Howell was the only Don in double figures for
the afternoon. She knocked down 10 kills and had 23 digs.
Howell also put up 2 service aces.
Fabiana
Souza led IPFW in the kill department, adding
21 to her numbers. She currently has 2,171 kills to her
name. Souza also had four block assists for the afternoon.
Amanda
Pfister decided to match other Dons, posting
10 kills and four block assists as well.
Erika
Leitzke put up 43 assists in the four game match.
She also had five digs and two block assists.
Peachy
Jankowski dug
up 18 balls for the Mastodons for the afternoon.
For Saint
Louis, Aida Antanaviciute had 22 kills while Tatyana Menshikova
put up 21. Lauren Christman put up 63 assists for the Billikens.
The Mastodons
will host Valparaiso on November 1 at 7pm in the Gates
Center. Oakland University will travel to Gates on Saturday
November 5th for Senior Day for the Mastodons. The Oakland
match starts at 5pm. IPFW will then travel to Northern
Colorado for the Independent Tournament from November 10-12.
