Power Outage Not an Issue for Mastodons

Fort Wayne, IN - A little power outage couldn't stop the Mastodons from defeating the Wright State Raiders in three games Saturday afternoon at the Gates Center. In the middle of game one the power went out for 32 minutes before IPFW finished with final scores of 30-26, 30-20, 30-26.

The Mastodons recorded two double-doubles for the afternoon. Fabiana Souza put up 18 kills and 13 digs while Cynara Martins had 14 kills and 15 digs.

Erika Leitzke put up 41 assists for the Dons and posted a .444 hitting percentage after going 4-0-9 with three service aces, seven digs and one block solo.

Claire Jackson had two block solos and three block assists. Peachy Jankowski dug up 14 balls for the Dons.

For the Raiders, Alisha Kimbro had 11 kills while Lindsey Frank put up 20 assists. Jenny Schultz posted 16 digs for Wright State.

The Mastodons will host Indiana State tomorrow afternoon at 5 pm at the Gates Sports Center. Eastern Michigan will travel to IPFW on Tuesday for a 7 pm start time at Gates.
