Volleyball Signs Two

IPFW Women's Head Volleyball Coach Kelley Hartley Hutton announces Shannon Reuter
and Patricia Azevedo have each signed an NCAA National
Letter of Intent to play for the Mastodons in 2006.
Shannon
Reuter is a 5-7 setter from Tiffin, Ohio. She earned District
6 Player of the Year as a junior and was named First-Team
Northern Ohio League while at Tiffin High School. A stand-out
of Premier Volleyball Club, she earned the prestigious "Outstanding
17's Award" for the club.
"Shannon is a big-time
athlete with a big-time attitude to match. She'll compete
for a starting position immediately because I am certain
that she will adjust to our system of play rapidly," said
Hartley Hutton. Reuter plans to major is Psychology at IPFW.
Patricia
Azevedo is a 5-10 outside hitter from Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
She
will transfer from Western Nebraska Community
College after graduating this spring. Azevedo, a Div.I NJCAA
All-American last year, is currently ranked 8th nationally
in kills per game. Her team is 51-1 and the no. 2 seed in
next week's Junior College National Tournament.
"Patty
hits a very heavy ball and offers a tremendous amount of
versatility and playing experience. She's the type of player
that could have a huge impact on our program," said
Hartley Hutton. Azevedo will be a General Studies major at
IPFW.
