IPFW Takes Down Valpo in Three

Fort Wayne, IN - Valparaiso and IPFW had one thing in common coming into tonight's game, five losses. IPFW left the floor with the win, after defeating the Crusaders in three games, 30-26, 30-24, 30-21.

Cynara Martins led the charge for the Mastodons recording a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. Martins also posted two block assists and hit a .226.

Fabiana Souza came in a close second with her double-double of 10 kills and a team high 16 digs. Souza was a blocking machine putting up one block solo and six block assists.

Claire Jackson was the ultimate blocker tonight putting up three block solos and five block assists along with six kills. Jackson posted a .308 hitting percentage.

Erika Leitzke posted her double-double with 37 assists and 10 digs.

Nicole Howell was all over the floor putting up three service aces, six digs and nine kills.

For the Crusaders, Amy Palash put up 11 kills while Katie Bova had 33 assists. Alex Chism and Brittany Marks each put up 12 digs.

The Mastodons are now 19-5 and will host their final home match on Saturday at 5 pm against Oakland. IPFW will then travel to Northern Colorado for the Independent Championships from November 10-12.
