Mastodons Top Blue Demons
St. John’s wins Tournament

Fort Wayne, IN – Fort Wayne, IN-The 2004 IPFW Women’s Volleyball Invitational, presented by U.S. Cellular, came to a close on Saturday night with IPFW topping DePaul by the final of 3-0.

The Mastodons won by the scores of 30-26, 30-26, and 30-28.

The ‘Dons were led by All-Tournament selections Fabiana Souza and Nicole Howell. Souza registered her second double-double of the day with 19 kills and 16 digs. Howell chalked up 12 kills in the match.

Cynara Martins also hit for double-figure kills with eleven.

Libero Peachy Jankowski was solid on defense, digging up a match-high 23 balls.

DePaul was led by Denae Gibson with 15 kills and 16 digs.

St. John’s was the Champion of the 2004 IPFW Women’s Volleyball Invitational, presented by U.S. Cellular. The Red Storm stormed undefeated through the field for the crown.

IPFW (9-5) will return to action Wednesday night (9/29), hosting Chicago State at 7pm.
