Volleyball
Gets Back in the Win Column
Fort
Wayne, IN – IPFW got back on the winning side of the
ledger this afternoon, on day two of the IPFW Women’s Volleyball
Invitational, presented by U.S. Cellular. The Mastodons beat
the University of Evansville 3-0.
IPFW (8-5) topped the Purple Aces by the scores of 30-22,
30-23, and 30-23.
Leading the way to the win was junior middle hitter Fabiana
Souza with a double-double of 17 kills and 11 digs.
Senior Lindsay
Brammer, sophomore Claire Jackson, and freshman
Cynara Martins each put down nine balls.
Senior setter Lindi
Bankowski also registered a double of
her own with 43 assists and 10 digs.
Freshman libero Peachy
Jankowski led the Mastodons in digs
with fifteen.
In the match, the ‘Dons out-hit Evansville (6-7) .285 to
.065.
The Mastodons
return to action tonight at 7pm, hosting DePaul University
in the tournament's final match. DePaul lost to
St. John’s 3-2 earlier in the day.
