Mastodons Salvage Weekend

Evanston, IL-A close loss to the host on Saturday, and a beating by #4 Florida, was soothed a bit with a 3-0 win over Bowling Green in IPFW final match of the NU Invite at Northwestern University on Sunday evening.

After being spiked by the Gators 30-15, 30-19, and 30-20, earlier in the day, the 'Dons rebounded nicely to keep Bowling Green winless at 0-3 by the scores of 30-27, 30-24, and 30-27.

Junior middle hitter Fabiana Souza (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) matched her 22 kill performance on Saturday against Northwestern, with 22 against the Falcons. Souza hit .475 for the match with seven digs.

Junior setter Ashlee Roth (Leo, IN) was a perfect 6 for 6 in the kill department. She also added 38 assists and nine digs.

Freshman libero Peachy Jankowski (Fraser, MI) led all 'Dons in digs with twelve.

The win evens the Mastodons' record at 2-2. They return to action next weekend, traveling to Green Bay, Wisconsin for the UWGB Invitational.
