Mastodons
win 18th
Rochester,
MI - The IPFW women's volleyball team continues to
roll on toward another 20-win season. Tonight, the Mastodons
won #18, beating Oakland University 3-0.
Similar
to their match earlier this month at the Gates Center, IPFW
won easily by the scores of 30-27, 30-24, 30-26.
Division-I
Independent Offensive Player-of-the-week, Fabiana
Souza racked up her 16th double-double of the season
with a 17 kill, 15 dig evening. The junior middle hitter from
Belo Horizonte, Brazil, also had two aces in the match for
a 20 point night.
Sophomore
Claire Jackson turned in another strong performance
for the 'Dons. Jackson registered eight kills and figured
in on six blocks (1 solo/5 assists).
Also on
the defensive side were double-digit dig efforts from sophomore
Nicole Howell and freshman Peachy
Jankowski with 13 and 11 respectively.
Oakland
(4-19) got a 12 kill, 9 dig, 15 point night from Sarah Miller.
The Mastodons
(18-8) have now won six straight matches. They will look for
number seven on Friday night at Chicago State. Match time
is 7pm.
