Mastodons Have Easy Time with Oakland

Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW women’s volleyball team snapped a short two-game losing streak on Saturday night, with a 3-0 win over Oakland University at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.

The Mastodons powered past the Grizzlies 30-12, 30-19, and 30-21.

IPFW controlled the match from the opening serve, with junior outside hitter Fabiana Souza and senior outside hitter Janelle Pollard each knocking down 12 kills.

Freshman outside hitter Cynara Martins dug up 15 balls to go along with nine kills and four aces.

Senior setter Lindi Bankowski recorded 41 assists.

The Grizzlies (3-16) were led by Heather Lippert with ten kills.

IPFW (13-8) returns to action, hosting a Sunday afternoon (10/17) match, against Central Michigan at 3pm.
