Cardinals
Put a Lid on IPFW
Muncie,
IN - Ball State University used a strong defensive
effort to sweep IPFW 3-0, at the Worthen Arena in Muncie,
on Wednesday night.
While
each team's hitting numbers were similar, it was Ball State's
14-6 advantage in blocks, and 82-69 edge in digs, that propelled
the Cardinals to a 30-22, 30-26, 30-25 win.
Junior
middle hitter Fabiana Souza again paced the
Mastodons (12-8) with 19 kills and 16 digs in the match.
Freshman
outside hitter Cynara Martins and senior
middle hitter Lindsay Brammer eached chipped
in ten kills. Martins also register 16 digs.
Freshman
libero Peachy Jankowski also chalked up double
digit digs with ten.
Sophomore
middle blocker Claire Jackson assisted on
four blocks in the match.
Sarah
Obras led the Cardinals (12-6) with 17 kills and 14 digs.
After
winning a season-high four matches in-a-row, the 'Dons have
now gone 1-3 in their last four.
They will have a chance to snap their current two-game skid,
hosting matches against Oakland University on Saturday night
(10/16) at 7pm, and Central Michigan on Sunday (10/17) at
3pm.
